Jackie Shroff's reputation at stake as Ahmedabad Film City Project gets delayed

Ahmedabad Film City - the flagship project of Jackie Shroff has run into enormous delays. This projected has been marketed with brand of "Vibrant Gujarat" and this would not go well with CM Narendra Modi's push to showcase Gujarat as business friendly state.

Number of NRI Gujarati's have invested in this project which gives plots of 200 sq ft, 400 sq ft, 600 sq ft and 1000 sq ft to individuals in 72 equal installment payments.

The Scheme was launched in November 2009 with a promise to have its first studio in 6 months time. But after 12 months of launch, the process of getting NA/NOC is also not yet complete.

The monthly draws have stopped happening and many people have started withdrawing the money from the scheme.

Indexb have confirmed via email that this project is part of Vibrant Gujarat but looking at the progress and the way the investors have been misled and misinformed by Omland Realty, it does not go well showing Gujarat as a favorable investment hub to many NRI's.

Isn't Government also a stakeholder in ensuring that if Vibrant Gujarat Banner is used and investor's money is at stake, utmost follow up and management is done to ensure that projects execute on schedule.

On one way CM Narendra Modi hits out at CWG fiasco. What about such projects that have got MoU's signed with Vibrant Gujarat, investors money sought and then got bad repute with investors? Forget singing praises of Gujarat when land allocation in projects like Medical Tourism Hub and Film City doesn't happen and in turn many investors get ripped off.
